Five Star Window Coatings is honored to be featured in Window Film Magazine’s 2020 Top Window Film Dealers Edition that came out Sept./Oct. COVID has had a substantial impact on our economy and has impacted business nationally and globally. Thankfully with great company leadership and our awesome customer base – 5 Star has been able to navigate through these challenging times. From producing custom printed murals (as seen above), installing solar control, privacy, decorative and safety & security window film – to custom designed logos and signs, our team continues to serve West Michigan with exceptional sales, products and service.

Signs, Signs & More Signs!

Indoor Suites, Storefronts, and Hanging Signs – Creative, Impactful, Fantastic!

We’ve been doing some very creative and interesting work around town – designing, creating and installing signs for our clients in and around Grand Rapids, Michigan. Printing on vinyl and window film, cutting vinyl and window film – custom produced to suit each particular need. Below is cut vinyl graphics for the storefront of The Feet Suite in Grand Rapids:

Interior offices that need identification have many options. Doors, sidelights and glass walls can be filmed with privacy film that is printed with logos and suite identification – or applied cut graphics. Below is examples of the custom work we did for the Gerald R. Ford Airport:

The Airport’s Sign and Logo is Printed and Cut out of 3M Transparent Window Film that Produces a Semi-Translucent Look on the Door of the Administrative Offices

The interior suite windows and door of King Media in Ada includes a 48″ band of frost film with “King Media” and their “K” logo cut out of the same frost film. The tone on tone layering of frost film creates a subtle elegant look to their entrance:

Blues Gym in Grand Rapids had a hand painted sign that was very old and needed a face lift. Our Graphic Designer recreated the custom images, keeping the integrity of their theme, and printed it out on vinyl to make a brand new sign for the gym:

Lastly, Spectrum Health Outpatient Rehabilitation Physical Therapy had us print and cut their custom graphics – as well as cut vinyl signage for their storefront in Grand Rapids. The result – picture perfect:

Store hours, a phone number and web address is fantastic information to display. Custom Counter Top in Grand Rapids had us custom cut and install it all over bands of brown vinyl on the upper third of their storefront windows. Custom graphics is the way to go for economical advertising!

Company Product Murals Create Privacy and Livens Up Space

Custom Designed & Printed Vinyl Window Film in the Corporate Atmosphere Promotes Connection with Product and Delivers Visual Interest

XS Energy Drink Mural at Amway Global Headquarters, Ada MI

Designed in cooperation with Amway Global, we printed and installed this Amway product mural on the expansive glass-walled hallway space at their headquarters in Ada, Michigan.

This mural is installed on the hallway side of conference rooms which also have a 48″ mural band installed inside for privacy. The new mural provides a solution to hide the plain gray backing of the mural inside the room, and adds visual interest to the common office space area.

Bands of window film whether it be decorative frost, or in this case printed vinyl, are very popular in corporate buildings in areas where privacy is limited by glass wall structures. A band of window film allows light to still come through a majority of the glass (top and bottom) – while providing both privacy and an element of interior design or decorative flair.

In creating any printed wall mural – the resolution of the image is the key to a sharp, clear and successful outcome. Corporate marketing departments can often supply suitable images to enlarge, as well as online Photographers of Fine Art, who can provide images for a reasonable price.

Window Film Magazine covers the industry of Architectural Window Film which includes; Commercial, Residential, Auto, Decorative, Security, and Paint Protection Film.

We created this custom vinyl cut, hand-laid 6-color logo for our friends at Railside Orchards. Railside is a 5th & 6th generation commercial Apple growing company right in Lowell, Michigan. The graphic turned out fantastic – and we have one happy customer!!

Custom Printed Privacy Window Film – Streamlining Two Separate Needs

A professional and versatile way to identify office space

GVSU recently identified some windows in the Design Thinking Program on campus that needed a more professional way to provide privacy for their room – and also identify the space. Recognizing the work we have produced in the past (with printed frost), for other departments on campus – they contacted us to see what we could do for this space.

Mini – blinds typically don’t look, from a design perspective, very professional or attractive. While they may serve their purpose for privacy, they often don’t look very streamlined and symmetrical, especially from the outside looking in. A great solution for privacy, in this case, was in fact a frosted window film. Because there was also a need for room identification, we chose a printable vinyl privacy film that is somewhat translucent for ample ambient light transmission. Ice Look Etch Glass Frosted Film is ideal for printing and has a silver etched glass effect. Metallic pigments give this decorative film the special finishing and high quality optic when being applied on glass. We printed the Design Academy Logo on this film and installed it on the three windows of the GVSU AuSable rooms 1112 and 1114. The result – fantastic!
